300 labels

This is small run/piece work order I did for a client recently. His company (https://www.wabdag.com/) had over 300 jerseys made off shore but the labels for their company had not been sewn on. So I sewed them on,  1 by 1.  I know how that can be when a company has a pretty big problem to solve but not big enough that a major sewing house would take it on.

small run production

Very different from working in a factory that did thousands of garments a day.  It is nice to be able to do small runs for clients who are just getting started.  Believe me, in factory you cannot put a whole order for a color way on your ironing board.

step one - client inspiration

My new client (who I am meeting today) wants to wear this style for her birthday which is in less than 2 weeks. First ideas are to draft pattern from some pants and a top that fit her and do muslin mockup. Then I will fit that and go from there. This will be a challenge but fun.  Stay tuned.

Alterations for a cyclist

One of my clients felt like he needed a vest that was reflective to ride in but he did not want to spend a bunch of money. So, he got some reflective tape and had me  cut it and sew it on in the places he felt would work best.
Now he has a great vest to ride in and did not have to spend a bunch of money!

More work that needs to get done quickly

This is a new order I will be cutting and sewing next week. They are really cool hammocks and bags for a local company who is selling really well and needs more product asap

Getting ready to sew

I am super excited to get going on this order.  118 sweaters!  It is even more fun to work for a client when you love their product. I really like what they do and think there really is a great market for these.  I know I want one (or two . . .) Ebbets Field Flannels

Confession

I swear I never thought I would do this but I admit it, I am making a quilt!  Agg. My only excuse is that I got  new sewing machine with plenty of space to use and I got good deal on Force Awakens fabric. I promise, I will not become a quilter. But for the sake of The Force and The Empire, I must do it. Just this once.
